Hit movie filmed in Ibiza, in the months of May and June 2012. Released on January 31, 2013 in Holland, ‘Verliefd op Ibiza’ was seen by over 100,000 viewers during the first weekend.
The film was a huge promotion for the island, attracting a lot of tourists from the Netherlands. Copyright of the film has been sold to countries like France, Russia, Ukraine and Germany, among others. The success of ‘Verliefd op Ibiza’ also led to the shooting of an eight episode series on the island in 2013, in which no scenes of festive were shown on the island. According to producer Nathalie Moser, this was because of the time slot is was to be issued was dedicated to a more family-friendly viewer.
‘Verliefd op Ibiza’ has, besides many other Ibizan locations, recorded scenes in the neighbourhoods of la Marina and Passeig Marítim de Vila, and Platja d’en Bossa, Ses Salines, Cala d’Hort, Cala Comte and S’Estanyol.
The film stars well known Dutch performers, and also counts with the participation of DJ Armin van Buuren and Ibizan actors Keesy Harmsen, Rayja Willem and Ana Vide.
