This is the eigth film from the series about the Pink Panther, which began in 1963 with ‘The Pink Panther’ a movie starring Peter Sellers. This was followed by “A Shot in the Dark’ (1964), ‘Inspector Clouseau’ (1968) where Alan Arkin played the main role, ‘the Return of the Pink Panther “(1975) again with Sellers, ‘The Pink Panther strikes again’ (1976), ‘Revenge of the Pink Panther “(1978),’ Trail of the Pink Panther ‘(1982)’ Curse of the Pink Panther “(1983) with Ted Wass, ‘Son of the Pink Panther” (1993) with Roberto Benigni,’ The Pink Panther ‘(2006) and’ The Pink Panther 2 ‘(2006 ), both with the actor Steve Martin in the role of Clouseau.
‘Curse of the Pink Panther’ was distributed in Spain as ‘La maldición de la Pantera Rosa’ being the continuation of “Trail of the Pink Panther” (1982) a film with archival footage of previous titles of the series starring Peter Sellers, who died in 1980.
Just like most of the titles mentioned, ‘Curse of the Pink Panther’ is directed by the well-known film maker Blake Edwards, author of ‘Breakfast at Tiffany’s’ (1961), ‘Days of Wine and Roses’ (1963) ‘The Party’ (1968), ‘Wild Rovers’ (1971), ’10’ (1979) or ‘Victor/Victoria’ (1982) among other feature films.
