Synopsis: Uma is a beautiful air hostess tired of waiting for the man of her dreams to start a family and decides to be a single mother. After seeking around the world she discovers that Nico, Lucia's boyfriend, meets all her needs. In a continuous flood of hilarious situations, Uma convinces Lucia, Lucia convinces Nico and they reach their goal: to carry out a "simple donation", after which everyone would go on with their own lives as if nothing had happened. But the "simple procedure" suddenly grows in complexity during Uma's pregnancy and feelings that no one expected arise and will transform their lives.

Commentary

The financial and political crisis in Argentina had begun during the preparations for the film ‘Apasionados’ in December 2001. This led to the abdication of Fernando de la Rúa. Despite the economic restrictions that led to the crisis, ‘Apasionados’ was able to be shot between January 21 and March 23, 2002, being the only Argentine film that was produced between those months.

The film shows locations in Buenos Aires, the patagonian glacier Perito Moreno and Spanish scenaries of Toledo and Ibiza. The shooting on the island was held in March, it lasted three day and it took place in the neighborhood of Dalt Vila and the s’Estanyol beach in Santa Eulàri. In the film, the scenes that were shot in Ibiza narrate the first days of Uma, played by Natalia Verbeke, when she discovers that she is pregnant. Director Juan Jose Jusid’s intention when shooting the romantic comedy was “telling a story that defys the norm and where the heart comes into play.”

The film premiered in Argentina in June 2002 and had considerable success with the public, being seen by over one million viewers in its first three months of exhibition.
