Experimental short film shot by Samuel Fort in Ibiza during September 1992. The title refers to the famous work of Luis Buñuel, ‘Un Chien andalou’ (1929), and also the timeframe filmmakers had access to the technical material, provided by the Ibizan television network Canal Mediterráneo.
‘Les chiens d’Eivissa (5 to 7)’ has footage of several locations such as Jesús, Cala d’Hort and Platja d’en Bossa along with other Ibiza locations. According to Samuel Fort, who was born in the French city Blois in 1967, the project began as an approach to the painting of the artist Paco Romero and ended up becoming a different story thanks to the creative contributions of the rest of the team. The director told Diario de Ibiza “During filming, never have I felt to be exclusively the director, but more as a filter of the desires and dreams of those who participated in the filming.”
The film premiered in Ibiza in one of the halls of the Sociedad Cultural Ebusus on January 2, 1993.
