On November 9 and 10, the Ibiza Film Commission and ALMA Sindicato de Guionistas (Screenwriters Syndicate) joined forces to organize the joined forces to organize the Screenwriting Seminar “Ibiza has a story”, a unique event that brought together professionals from the audiovisual sector at the Hotel THB Los Molinos.
For two days, the island became an epicenter for learning, exchanging ideas and networking focused on the art of screenwriting.
A renowned screenwriting seminar
With more than 40 attendees and a line-up of high-level speakers, the seminar offered a variety of talks and workshops designed to delve into the most relevant and current aspects of the world of screenwriting. Among the featured speakers were:
- Scriptwriters in conditions (Basic guide to rights and fair working conditions for scriptwriters)by Alba Lucío, who presented a basic guide on labor rights and fair working conditions for screenwriters.
- Writing film and fiction (Film script VS. Series script), directed by Azucena Rodríguez Pomeda, which addressed the key differences between film and series scripts.
- Executive Production (What is and what does a showrunner do?)The role and responsibilities of a showrunner were explored.
- Dossiers and sale of series (How to write and present a dossier and make a good pitch of your project to sell it), led by Rebeca Serrada Pariente, who explained how to prepare and present a dossier and make an effective pitch to sell a project.
The event not only stood out for the quality of its presentations, but also for the networking opportunity it offered attendees, fostering future collaborations and strengthening the professional fabric of the sector in Ibiza.
An island with history and audiovisual future
The seminar underlined Ibiza’s potential as a reference destination in the audiovisual field. As the organizers commented, the island has a rich and varied history that can inspire unique and captivating scripts. This event not only served to train and professionalize the scriptwriters in attendance, but also to position Ibiza as a key place in the creative and audiovisual panorama.
