The Ibiza Film Commission was present at the last edition of the San Sebastian International Film Festivalone of the most prestigious meetings of the audiovisual sector worldwide. Our director, Noemí Castrorepresented Ibiza as a driving force in the audiovisual industry, thus consolidating the island’s commitment to creativity, talent and international projection.
A meeting place for the industry
San Sebastian has become a point of reference for producers, directors, distributors and film professionals. Within this framework, the participation of the Ibiza Film Commission acquires a strategic relevance: it not only strengthens links with institutions and companies in the audiovisual field, but also places Ibiza on the map as an important destination for filmmakers, directors, distributors and professionals. privileged destination for filming.
Our presence was developed in three key moments:
GALICIA FILM COMMISSION COCKTAIL
A meeting that brought together different members of the Spain Film Commissionwhere we were able to share experiences and establish synergies with representatives from other regions. These informal but highly productive spaces reinforce the network of collaboration between territories and open up new opportunities for co-production and shared filming.
BALEARIC AUDIOVISUAL INDUSTRY
The director of the Ibiza Film Commission was part of the meetings promoted by the Institute of Culture of the Balearic Islands (ICIB).. This participation made it possible to showcase the work being carried out in the Balearic Islands in the audiovisual field and to highlight the role of Ibiza within the joint strategy of external promotion.
PRESENTATION OF PROJECT EXPERIENCES
One of the most inspirational moments was the presentation of the Experiences Projectled by the Spain Film Commission. The event was attended by filmmaker Julio Medemdirector of the iconic film Lucia and Sex. This project seeks to highlight the potential of Spanish destinations as filming locations, linking audiovisual with cultural and creative tourism.
Historic agreement REDCAU – Spain Film Commission
During the festival, a historic collaboration agreement was signed between the National Network of Audiovisual Clusters (REDCAU) and Spain Film Commission, consolidating a strategic alliance to strengthen the competitiveness of the audiovisual industry in Spain. The agreement, signed by Miquel Rutllant, outgoing president of REDCAU, and Juan Manuel Guimeráns, president of SFC, establishes a stable collaboration framework until 2028, automatically extendable, to boost innovation and digitalization, attract investment, promote Spain internationally, coordinate regulations and foster the exchange of knowledge.
In this context, REDCAU celebrated the change of presidency, with Adriana Oliveros, president of the Audiovisual Cluster of Aragon (CLADA), taking office with the aim of moving towards an innovative, sustainable and strategic audiovisual sector for the economic and cultural future of the country.

The participation in San Sebastian reinforces an idea that we at the Ibiza Film Commission actively promote: our island is a natural set for natural set with a great diversity of landscapes, infrastructures and professional services.
